This Thursday night at Spy…

I’ll be DJing alongside some pretty cool folk — should be loads of fun and it’s free in. I’ve been chucking around records in my house like a madwoman this evening. God, I love a bit of music-playing preparation:-) . More details here.

  1. Slightly off topic but!

Anyone interested in a laugh should check out Alexis Petridis’s review of the new Oasis album:

In particular I quote: “the younger Gallagher brother has developed a weird tic of continually reminding you that you’re listening to a song, as if concerned you might think you’re listening to a lecture on particle physics”

Nadine where are the new articles? I cannot abide that dreadful Irish Times blog (sorry Jim Carroll, but I find a lot of your contributors have weird issues, in particular the guy who didn’t enjoy the Tom Waits gig a few weeks back. That was the second and last time I’ll be reading it), so I’m at a bit of a loss for an Irish blog/perspective on music & the arts.

  2. Hi Ed,
Alexis Petridis is one of the funniest critics around — but I have to say, I rarely agree with him on the actual review part of his articles…still, though, some of those lines are genius…
Should start updating again soon — I’ve been taking a bit of a break, but I’m only resting, not retired:-)
